Houthis Seize Red Sea Port, Threatening Vital Shipping Route

CriticalReporting

Yemen's Houthis have captured a Red Sea port city as part of a campaign to control the Bab el-Mandeb strait, replicating Iran's blockade strategy at the Hormuz. The move targets one of the world's most critical shipping corridors, through which a large share of EU trade passes. Houthi control of the waterway could severely disrupt European commerce and drive up energy prices.
